Silverado of Alexandria hosted a 25th anniversary celebration for the memory care and assisted living company June 16 at its Alexandria location.

Mayor Justin Wilson joined Silverado founder and CEO Loren B. Shook and Senior Regional Administrator Katie Hilburn in celebrating with support staff and health care workers.

“We are excited to celebrate 25 years of changing lives and improving the quality of life for people living with dementia,” Hilburn said. “There is a true sense of family here.”

Founded in October of 1996, Silverado now has 28 locations throughout the country. The Alexandria facility on King Street opened in May of 2018.

“The commitment and resilience here are incredible,” Hilburn added. “The leadership team and the connectedness of families to each other is part of the culture and groundwork that was laid by our founder, Loren Shook, 25 years ago.”
