Alexandria Black History Museum to host Free Zoom Kwanzaa How-to Workshop

The Alexandria Black History Museum will present its annual Kwanzaa How-to Workshop, virtually, on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. The workshop is free, but Registration is required.

Learn how to do your own celebration as former Alexandria Black History Museum  curator, Lillian S. Patterson, and Alexandria Black History Museum  volunteers Cathy Riddick-Brown, and Linda Haughton, show you the origins, concepts, and practices of Kwanzaa. You will hear about principles, symbols, fun activities, and more that will enchant you all year long.

Begin the day earlier hearing the Kwanzaa story the Seven Spools of Thread as the Alexandria Black History Museum presents its monthly program, Story Time for Little Historians. The story will be posted on Historic Alexandria’s YouTube Channel beginning Dec. 1.

Participants must register in advance for the free Kwanzaa How-to Workshop. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. This will automate the receipt of the Zoom link and a reminder an hour before the event begins. For more information, contact 703-746-4356.
