There can be no middle ground here. We cannot compromise with delayers and deniers. The threat is real. Climate change is happening here and now. We see it in the eyes of climate refugees, in the devastating storms, in the erosion of shores, the warming of the seas, the melting of glaciers. Everywhere around us, we see a planet in disarray, and we have just around 12 years to transform our economy to preserve a stable climate for human habitation. 12 years to organize and mobilize. The Green New Deal is by far the best policy to do so, Everyone running for office in Virginia should talk about the GND and climate change, and every 2020 candidate who wants the support of young people should sign onto Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Markley’s resolution.
