Entertainment Brief: Del Ray Celebrate 17th Annual Artisans Holiday Market

The 17th Annual Del Ray Artisans Fine Art & Fine Craft Holiday Market offers unique handmade crafts from local artists including pottery/ceramics, photography, jewelry, cloth, paper crafts, and fused glass. Participating artists donate a percentage of their sales to Del Ray Artisans (DRA). This year’s Holiday Market artists are: Jen Athanas, Tessa Barsic, Barb Boatman, Drew Cariaso/Anne Veitenheimer, Rita Cohen, Chris Fedderson/Kathy Lawler, Carol Fogelsong, Rachel Giunta, Derek Hall, Lesley Hall, Maria Illingworth, Steve Johnson/Kari Kelley, Nancy Kline, Genevieve Lynn, Diana Manchak, Erica Morris, Angelina Musto/Isabella Hale, Patti North, Claudia & Sergio Olivos, Tangela Roe, Howard Stelzer, Ron Tickerhoff, Christine Vinh, Joyce Wagner, Dorothy Weiss, Tamara Wilkerson, Tracy Wilkerson, Paula Wulff, Monica Yichoy, and Sandra Zacharia.

This year, the Holiday Market is open for 3 weekends: Nov. 30-Dec. 2, Dec. 7-9 and Dec. 14-16. There are different artists and bake sale items each weekend. The schedule is the same for each weekend: Friday night is a reception from 6-9 p.m. where visitors can enjoy some delicious hot food from a local restaurant while shopping with the artists; Saturday, the Market is open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; and Sunday from 12-4 p.m.

All day Saturday and Sunday, shop with the artists, enjoy hot apple cider and maybe even purchase a Holiday Ornament, handmade made by a DRA member. Sales from the bake sale this year will benefit Computer CORE (www.computercore.org), an organization that helps low-income adults acquire the technological and life skills they need to pursue their career aspirations. A new children’s table is also available where children can shop (with piggybank-friendly prices) and purchase items for family members.

The Holiday Market will be at the Del Ray Artisans gallery at the Nicholas A. Colasanto Center, 2704 Mount Vernon Avenue. The gallery is free, open to the public and handicap accessible. Visit TheDelRayArtisans.org/HolidayMarket or call 703-501-1736.
