Serial Peeper Sought in Springfield
Fairfax County Police reported a series of peepings around Gloucester Avenue and Giles Place in Springfield between Dec. 29, 2015 and Jan. 15, 2016. Detectives believe one male suspect was involved in each of the incidents, fleeing after peeping into homes.
Fairfax County Public Schools Beat Virginia On-Time Graduation Rate
The Virginia Department of Education has released graduation rates for school systems around the Commonwealth. Fairfax County Public Schools had 92.3 percent of its 2016 class graduate on time, compared with the state average 91.3 percent.

Despite being three-time national champions, the West Springfield Dance Team coaches weren’t taking anything for granted going into the 2013 NDA Nationals competition. “We didn’t think we’d win Nationals,” said coach-choreographer Tara Perez. “We’re very critical of our routines and every year is a completely new place.”

Chris White, an Alexandria-based Long and Foster agent, says business is booming for waterfront property in the Mount Vernon area. Whether it’s canals, creeks or the open river, “anything you can stick a boat into” is getting a lot of attention, he said. In particular, homes with dramatic river views, sellers of those in the $1-2 million range are getting close to their asking price.

Three Florida Men Arrested in Springfield, Charged with Credit Card Fraud
Jermaine Butler, 29, Markeem Ho-Sang, 25, and Roderick Norman, 25, all residents of Miami Gardens, Fla., were arrested Thursday, Feb. 25 and charged with multiple counts of credit card fraud and possessing devices to forge credit cards.

Though the Metro Park pit stop for Bike to Work Day 2013 didn’t technically open until 6:30 a.m. on Friday, May 17, the first biker showed up at 6:15, according to stop Manager Nancy-jo Manney.

‘Smooth’ Voting at Robinson Secondary
Processing enhancements helped precinct team to stay efficient.
By 4:15 p.m., the precinct voting station at Robinson Secondary School had already processed 1,432 voters out of those 4,458 registered. Only a few hours from the polls closing, they were well on their way to finishing with 1600-1800, according to Assistant Chief Election Officer and Fairfax resident Teri Ayers.
