Reflections of the Great Falls Farmers Market’s ‘Jelly Girls.’
We have completed our last Saturday at the Great Falls Farmers Market and we are heading back to Christopher Newport University. We are looking back on what a great idea it was to start a jelly-making business and get our feet wet at the Farmers Market. It was so much fun! We enjoyed talking to customers about how we prepare our jellies and it was such a treat when a customer came back the second time.

The smiling high school senior held her violin in her outstretched hands, offering to show the 6-year-olds how to play it. As she plucked the strings, a child recoiled in surprise, afraid that he was close enough to hurt the instrument. Twenty minutes later, that same child was holding the violin and the bow, exclaiming,"I want to play this."

The Democratic Women of Clifton is now called the Democratic Women of Clifton and Northern Virginia (DWCNV). It’ll hold its next meeting Sunday, Sept. 15, from 3-5 p.m. Guest speaker is Eleanor Clift, a contributor to Newsweek and The Daily Beast, an author and a member of “The McLaughlin Group,” a weekly public-affairs program. The group’s October meeting will focus on the statewide election in November. All Democratic women in Northern Virginia are invited to become members.
