As part of its worldwide voyage, the Hawaiian canoe Hōkūleʻa will make a two-day stop in Old Town Alexandria. Tours of the canoe and dockside outreach will be offered by crew members May 15 at Waterfront Park from 3 to 5 p.m. and May 16 at the City Marina from 1 to 5 p.m. The visit is part of the Malama Honua Worldwide Voyage, which will cover 47,000 nautical miles, 85 ports and 26 nations.
