Revolutionary War Exhibit. At the National Museum of the U.S. Army, Alexandria. The two-year exhibition commemorates this year’s 250th Birthday of the U.S. Army and next year’s 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. This 5,000 square-foot exhibition features a rare collection, specially curated by the Museum, that includes Revolutionary War artifacts from the original colonies, England, France and Canada. Among the exhibit’s highlights are a pair of General George Washington’s pistols, the original flag of the 1st Rhode Island Regiment carried by the Army’s first African American Soldiers, and a complete Loyalist uniform—one of the rarest items in the collection.
