The Living Legends of Alexandria, a 502(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has announced its 2025 class of honorees. This year’s honorees include notable individuals whose contributions have shaped the city’s culture, service, leadership, and legacy.
“These civic champions include nonprofit leaders, advocates for equity and education, champions of the arts, sports heroes, and individuals whose quiet, persistent work has transformed lives behind the scenes,” said LLA board president Mary Wadland.
First established in 2007, the Living Legends program each year recognizes Alexandrians who have made extraordinary contributions to the community. These individuals come from diverse backgrounds but share a commitment to improving the quality of life in Alexandria.
The 2025 Living Legends of Alexandria include: Mary Lee Anderson; Ana Bonia-Galdamez; Gerald File; Charlotte Hall; Iburia Hall-Haynes; Noah Lyles; David Mercer; Robyn Nichols; Patrick O’Brien; Kitty Porterfield; Adrienne Terrell Washington; and Gerald Wanzer.
A Meet the Legends gala reception will be held in November to honor the newest class of Living Legends of Alexandria. www.alexandrialegends.org
