A request has been made by Mayor Justin Wilson that owners of apartment buildings offer tenants an installment plan of 12 months to pay the April rent.
Likewise, it would be really nice if Mayor Wilson and City Council lessened the real estate tax burden on all Alexandria owners during these challenging times rather than seeking a two cents increase in the property tax rate.
Higher assessed property values have already substantially increased the property taxes we will all be paying in June; private residences, rental and commercial properties alike.
Give us a break, City leaders!
