Kimpton Morrison House in Old Town Alexandria officially reopened its doors May 17 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception to show off a new design and restaurant. The ceremony included remarks by Kimpton’s Area Director of Hotel Operations Matt Hurlburt, President and CEO of Alexandria’s Chamber of Commerce Joe Haggerty, and Chairman of the Board for Visit Alexandria’s Board of Directors Vic Parra. To honor Alexandria’s Scottish heritage and Morrison House and Ashlar Restaurant and Bar’s locally-inspired design and offerings, a blue ribbon with a green tartan plaid bow was used in the ceremony. The official opening decree was announced by Alexandria’s Town Crier Benjamin Fiore-Walker. Attendees included Alexandria Mayor Silberberg, City Council Members John Taylor Chapman and Will Bailey, and Alexandria City Manager Mark Jinks. Morrison House is located at 116 South Alfred St., Alexandria. Visit www.morrisonhouse.com.
